Real Church is a life-giving church that wants everyone to experience what it means to authentically follow Jesus in every aspect of their lives. We believe that every person needs to know and experience the Love and Life found in Jesus. Every person is called to change the world around them by allowing the Love and Life of Jesus to shine through them! We are Real People, living Real Lives, for a Real Jesus, having a Real Good Time.
Together We… We were created for community from the beginning. God himself said, "It's not good for man to be alone." Alone we are ineffective and unproductive, but TOGETHER we are the body of Christ. Real Church will do life together. Gen 2:18; Rom 12:5
Love Boldly Real Church will be a church known for radically loving people with the same kind of scandalous love Jesus has for us. He loved us enough to die for us while we were still in the middle of our junk… So, we will love people boldly no matter who they are and what they have done! Romans 2:4, 1 John 4:11
Communicate Transparently At Real Church we will seek to understand others by creating a culture of open and honest communication. We grow together when we are willing to bear our souls to one another and listen with the heart of Christ.2 Cor 6:11; Eph 4:2, 4:25, James 5:16
Create with Excellence God creates with such excellence that it wows and draws people into relationship with himself. Real Church will create with excellence in order to wow and encourage relationship with God. Eph 5:1, Col 3:23, Tit 2:7
In October of 2015 God birthed the vision of planting a church in Clearwater, Florida. Courtney and I chose to follow God’s lead and began preparing to launch a church in this beautiful city, a city we didn’t even know the location of when we accepted God’s call. We moved our family to Clearwater in July of 2017 and began the process of building a team. Through prayer, meetings, and outreach God gave us an amazing launch team. We launched Real Church in the auditorium of Clearwater High School on September 16, 2018. God has changed so many lives. Each time someone steps into relationship with Jesus or begins to step into their God-given purpose, it makes every moment of this journey worth it. Real Church, the best is yet to come!
In Essential Beliefs
We have unity. There is one Body and one Spirit... There is one Lord, one faith, one baptism, and one God and Father of us all... (Ephesians 4:4-6)
The Essentials We Believe
The sole basis for our belief is the Bible, which is uniquely God-inspired, without error, and the final authority on all matters on which it speaks. As the Bible teaches, there is one God, eternally existing in three persons - Father, Son and Holy Spirit - each possessing all the attributes of deity.
God created humans to have fellowship with Him, but they defied God by sinfully going their own way. As a result, we need God’s saving grace to end our alienation from Him. Salvation comes only through God’s grace - not human effort - and must be received personally by repentance and faith.
Jesus Christ, second Person of the Trinity, lived a sinless life on earth and voluntarily paid for our sin by dying on the cross as our substitute. This accomplished salvation for all who receive grace by trusting in Him alone. He rose from the dead and is the only mediator between us and God. He baptizes believers in the Holy Spirit. He will return to earth to consummate history.
The Holy Spirit, the third person of the Trinity, convicts the world of sin, convicts believers of righteousness, and convicts Satan of his coming judgment. The Holy Spirit empowers believers to be like Jesus in the world. John 16:8-11, Acts 1:8
The Church’s role is to glorify God and serve those in need. The Church is the body of Christ. She is to be Jesus to the world. At the end, everyone will experience bodily resurrection and the judgment. Only believers will enjoy eternal fellowship with God.
In Non-Essential Beliefs
We have liberty. Accept him whose faith is weak, without passing judgment on disputable matters… Who are you to judge someone else’s servant? To his own master he stands or falls… So then each of us will give an account of himself to God… So whatever you believe about these things keep between yourself and God. (Romans 14:1, 4, 12, 22)
In All Our Beliefs
We show charity. …If I hold in my mind not only all human knowledge but also the very secrets of God, and if I have the faith that can move mountains—but I have no love, I amount to nothing at all. (1 Corinthians 13:2 PH)
